We travel to San Diego often.  Besides visiting my parents, we’ve just found that San Diego manages to stay on the forefront in hotel trends and there are some really, really great places to stay.  We’ve drawn a lot of inspiration from the beach hotels there.  If you like the laid-back beach vibe of Pacific Beach, and don’t mind spending the bucks for a really trendy place, check out Tower23.  Yeah, it’s a bit of a W rip off, but they’ve created a pretty entrancing scene.  Love the website!

This winter Laura and I spent a week in Mexico and found a super little hotel in Yelapa. Verana has only eight rooms, nearly everything is hand made and the attention to detail is phenomenal.
